WHY WE ARE RESTORING LIFE TO THE OCEANS
We are working to overcome the three biggest challenges to life on earth.

CHALLENGE 1: CLIMATE CHANGE
Recognised as one of the major causes for disparity and threat to the very existence of life on our planet. Healthy coral reefs play an essential role in managing climates.

CHALLENGE 2: BIODIVERSITY WITH HABITAT LOSS
Over the past 100 years, armed conflicts were the number one threat towards mankind. Now, habitat loss and destruction of biodiversity are seen as a major concern. Putting this into perspective, more than 60% of the global population depends entirely on seafood for all protein intake.

CHALLENGE 3: SOCIO-ECONOMIC INEQUALITY
Almost one billion people depend entirely on healthy coral reefs for their livelihoods. Reefs offer coastal protection, a wide variety of food sources, leisure and tourism income. Cultural traditions and beliefs have developed around them over thousands of years. Without healthy reefs, these people will be displaced.
